I graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2003, at 24 years old. I went straight into the courtroom as a criminal prosecutor in Newport News, Virginia, learning fast that the law is most powerful when it actually shows up for real people.

Then I became a mom, and everything shifted. I spent about a year proudly serving as a Guardian Ad Litem, advocating for children whose voices weren't being heard in court. That work mattered more than I can put into words. But as my own family grew, I knew I needed to be present in a different way. So I stepped back from the courtroom and stepped fully into motherhood.

No regrets. That season made me a better attorney. Because now when you sit across from me (or walk through our AI-guided intake), I'm not just a lawyer. I'm a mom who has thought deeply about what happens to the people we love when we're not there to speak for ourselves.

My kids are older now and I'm back, with more clarity than ever about why this work matters. I built Puma Law RVA to give every adult in Virginia access to the legal protection they deserve. You don't need to be wealthy. You don't need to be old. You just need a plan.
